White Flag in the Culture War?

Nicholas Kristoff in today's New York Times suggests that "If liberals demand that the Christian right show more tolerance for gays and lesbians, then liberals need to be more respectful of conservative Christians".

I'll place a bet: At least 80% of the conservative commentators will gloat over this statement. Less than 20% will move toward a truce.
