President Harry Truman would occasionally vent his anger by writing stinging letters to people who offended him. He would then put the letter in his desk drawer and look at it the next day when his temper had cooled.
Chris Nelson, of the Nelson Report on foreign affairs just got himself in a "heap o trouble" by sending a report to the wrong persons. It seems that a frank report intended for the American Embassy in South Korea went to 800 subscribers by mistake. He can expect several cancellations of his $700/month report.
There are a couple of ways to avoid this. First, reconfigure the tool bar so that the "reply" and "reply all" buttons" are separated by another button. This will reduce the chances that you will unwittingly reply to the wrong persons. Second, enter addressees only after you have typed the text of the message, completed your proofreading, and given time for your temper to cool. This will give you a chance to ask yourself: "Do I really want to send this message to this (or these) persons?"
Do as I say, not as I have done.
