The New York Times quotes intelligence committee chair Senator Pat Roberts (R-Kansas):
"Simply put, I think the community is somewhat in denial," Senator Roberts said at a breakfast meeting, at which he also called for "fresh thinking" among the intelligence agencies.”
This gives me another opportunity for “I told you so” post. See Institutionlized Denial. “Fresh thinking” is needed less than a return to an old way of analyzing weapons development programs. See February 3, letter to the Washington Post.
Sorry if this sounds like bragging or complaining, but it is frustrating to watch institutions commit preventable (IMHO) failures.
